Training Intensity Distribution Calculator
Enter minutes for each of your own three intensity categories. An optional target from 0% to 100% shows the easy minutes required by the formula.

User-defined categories only; no recommended split or target is supplied. Shares are undefined when total minutes are zero.
Calculations use floating-point arithmetic. Display uses up to 12 significant digits; the TXT report retains raw inputs and numeric outputs.
A QUICK WALKTHROUGH
How to use this tool
- Enter easy, moderate and hard minutes. These are your labels and classification.
- Optionally enter a target easy share from 0% to 100%; no default target is supplied.
- Review total minutes, each category share and the optional target calculation.
Calculation and scope
Total = easy + moderate + hard. Share = category minutes ÷ total × 100; shares are undefined when total is zero. For target fraction r = entered percentage ÷ 100, needed easy = r ÷ (1−r) × (moderate + hard), when the target is below 100%. Additional easy = max(0, needed easy − current easy).
Limitations
This tool does not classify intensity, endorse a training split or prescribe a target. A target is only the user-entered arithmetic scenario. With zero total minutes, shares and target attainment are undefined. At a 100% target with any moderate or hard minutes, no finite easy-minute amount can reach it.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Does this prescribe an easy/moderate/hard split?
No. You classify your own minutes and may leave the optional target blank. No standard split is supplied.
What if total minutes are zero?
Shares are undefined and the calculator cannot say a target is met.
What does the additional easy amount mean?
It is the non-negative difference between formula-required easy minutes and current easy minutes. It is arithmetic only, not a training recommendation.
