How to use this tool

Owner-password check
The tool inspects QPDF encryption metadata and proceeds only if the supplied password matches the owner password. A user/viewing password that can only open the PDF is not enough to remove its restrictions.
Local decryption
The PDF and password are handled in a browser worker. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the original file is never overwritten. Use this only for files you own or are authorized to modify.
Limits and compatibility
One encrypted PDF up to 20 MB and 100 pages is supported; output is limited to 100 MB. The output is checked by QPDF and independently opened by PDF.js. Rewriting may affect signatures, forms, or advanced features; keep the original.

Can this crack or guess a password?
No. It makes no guesses. You must provide the PDF owner password.
Why is my viewing password refused?
A user password may allow opening while still restricting editing. This tool requires the owner password and does not remove owner-imposed restrictions using viewing-only credentials.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Decryption runs locally in a browser worker.
Can I use it on any document?
Only use this tool for documents you own or are authorized to modify.
