How to use this tool
- Choose one PDF up to 10 MB and 25 pages.
- Convert its embedded text to DOCX and review the text preview.
- Download the DOCX document. Scanned pages require OCR elsewhere.
Editable text, not visual reconstruction
Extracted text becomes editable Word paragraphs, with a page heading and page break for each source page. The workflow does not preserve original fonts, columns, tables, images, links, forms, or exact reading order.
Local and bounded
PDF.js reads the selected file in this browser; it is never uploaded. Inputs are limited to 10 MB and 25 pages, extracted text to 1,000,000 characters, and the DOCX output to 15 MB.
Scans need OCR
Only embedded PDF text objects are converted. Image-only scanned pages receive a clear note; this tool does not run OCR or create text for scanned images.
GOOD TO KNOW
Common questions
Will the DOCX look like the original PDF?
No. It contains editable text paragraphs and page headings, not a reconstruction of the source layout or typography.
Can I edit the converted text?
Yes. The extracted text is stored as ordinary WordprocessingML paragraphs in the DOCX.
Does it convert scanned pages?
No. It reads embedded PDF text only. Use an OCR tool for scanned or image-only pages.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Text extraction and DOCX creation happen locally in your browser.
