A QUICK WALKTHROUGH

How to use this tool

  1. Choose an unencrypted PDF up to 50 MB and 50 pages.
  2. Render the pages and drag a black box over each area to remove. Review every page; undo the last box on a page if needed.
  3. Confirm that you marked all sensitive areas, then export and inspect the new image-only PDF before sharing.

Rebuilt output, not an overlay

The original PDF is not copied into the output. Each page is rendered, selected areas are burned into the page pixels, and a new image-only PDF is assembled. Source text, links, annotations, forms, attachments, signatures, and metadata are discarded.

Manual review is essential

This tool does not identify names or sensitive content automatically. Inspect every page, including headers, footers, repeated content, and images. Anything outside marked boxes remains visible.

Private, bounded local processing

The source is processed only in this browser and is never uploaded. Limits: 50 MB, 50 pages, 12 megapixels per page, 40 megapixels total, and 100 MB output. The result has no searchable text layer.

No compliance certification

The tool does not certify legal or regulatory compliance, automatically find visible sensitive information, or guarantee acceptance by any disclosure workflow. Keep the source securely and independently inspect the downloaded result.

GOOD TO KNOW

Common questions

Can text under a black box be recovered?

The box is burned into rendered page pixels; the original PDF and its text layer are not embedded in the output. The new PDF contains only page images.

Does it find names automatically?

No. You must inspect each page and mark every visible occurrence yourself.

Are links, forms, signatures, metadata, or searchable text retained?

No. The output contains flattened page images only; source objects and text are not retained.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Rendering and PDF creation happen locally in your browser.
