Embedded image objects, not page screenshots
The tool uses QPDF’s JSON page-image summary and object references to locate standalone image XObjects, then exports their decoded pixels. It does not render pages into downloadable images.
A deliberately narrow image contract
Only decodable 8-bit DeviceRGB and DeviceGray image objects without masks or custom Decode arrays are exported. Inline images, patterns, masked images, other color spaces, and unsupported filters may be skipped. Original JPEG/JPX bytes, color profiles, and metadata are not preserved.
Local processing and limits
QPDF WebAssembly and JSZip run in this browser. Input is limited to 10 MB and 25 pages, 30 supported images, 8 megapixels per image, 12 megapixels total, and a 50 MB ZIP. The PDF is not uploaded.

Common questions
Does this export a screenshot of every PDF page?
No. It extracts supported embedded image objects and does not export full-page renderings.
Are the original JPEG or JPX files preserved?
No. Supported decoded pixels are re-encoded as PNG, so original compressed bytes, color profiles, and metadata are not preserved.
Will every image in every PDF be extracted?
No. Inline images, patterns, masks, custom color spaces, and other unsupported image constructions may not be available.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. PDF parsing, image decoding, PNG encoding, and ZIP creation run locally in this browser.
